In Your Time

The Philosophy

Birth that occurs in its own time and pace, free of excessive intervention, is a reclamation of self, tradition, and trust. Allowing space for the body, spirit, mind, and emotional wellbeing to thrive in alignment through reverence of the birth process. Surrounded by those who will uphold and behold your sacred journey.

The Journey

September of 2009, Adia's mother thought it was imperative that she witness the birth of her cousin and this was her introduction to birth from a physiological perspective. It was awe inspiring watching her aunt work her cousin down, moving through various positions of her choosing, with the support of Adia's mother, her other aunt, the midwife, and the doula. When Adia's cousin was born, there was joy and love in the room and it was in that moment that Adia knew her calling was to do what those women did for her aunt. Adia remained in close contact to the birth world, attending childbirth education classes in Kindred Space LA, home birth workshops with the great late Claudia Booker, and began her official doula training in 2018 through DONA. September of 2025 Adia completed her Perinatal Community Health Worker and doula training through Mamatoto Village. She holds an NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification and Adult and Infant CPR/AED/First Aid certification through American Red Cross. Adia has been working as a contract community birth worker supporting families primarily in wards 7 and 8 in addition to taking on her own private clients. She has supported families of all types including: VBACs, single parents, high-risks pregnancies, cesareans, and first-time parents. This work to serve and support can only be done with selflessness and reverence for the body and spirit as a whole, virtues Adia holds as invaluable. Her hope is that all families can look back on their perinatal experience and feel accomplished in self, supported, and resolved. When Adia is not in the birth streets, she can be found sailing, camping and hiking with her dog, acting, or doing pottery.

Pregnant Couple Relaxing

Our Walk Together

Each person's care will look different from the next. Each pregnancy, whether this is your first or fifth, is different. The approach to care must also follow suit. My mission is to tailor your care to your specific needs in the moment. Throughout our time together we will learn each other, how I can best support you, form body awareness and confidence, offer evidence based education and referrals, and equip you with the tools to communicate with your support team.

Birth is one of the oldest events of humanity. It is not new or foreign and the body knows what to do. Through education, preparation, relaxation techniques, and body positioning, to name a few, you lay the foundation upon which you can grow confidently from.
